Family Adventure Press Effective Date / Last updated: November 07, 2025

Family Adventure Press (“we,” “us,” “our”) operates https://familyadventurepress.com (the “Site”) from the United States. We are a small mom-son-grandma team sharing free family adventures, bonus activity pages, stories, and occasional book/newsletter alerts — all to spark wonder, strengthen family bonds, and celebrate adventures that start right outside your door.

We never sell your personal data. We collect only the bare minimum needed to run the Site and deliver what you ask for. This Privacy Policy explains our practices.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information you give us voluntarily

  • Email address — only when you sign up for free PDFs, activity packs, new-book alerts, or similar via our forms (powered by MailPoet, a GDPR-compliant service).
  • Any optional details you include in messages or comments (e.g., name if you choose to provide it).

B. Information collected automatically

  • Basic analytics via WordPress.com Stats / Jetpack: anonymized IP address, page views, approximate country/region, browser type, referral source. No personal identifiers are stored or linked to individuals.
  • Essential cookies for site functionality (e.g., remembering form preferences if applicable).
  • No advertising cookies or tracking pixels are used.

We do not collect:

  • Precise location data
  • Payment information (no e-commerce checkout on the site currently)
  • Sensitive personal data

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver free downloads (e.g., George’s Adventure Activity Pack) and send what you requested
  • To send occasional newsletter updates or new content alerts (only if you opted in)
  • To improve the Site through anonymous usage stats
  • To respond to your messages or support questions
  • To comply with legal obligations if required

3. Lawful Basis for Processing (for EU/UK/EEA visitors)

We rely on:

  • Consent — for email subscriptions (clear opt-in checkbox) and any non-essential cookies
  • Legitimate interests — for essential site operation and anonymized analytics (you can object by contacting us)
  • Legal obligation — if we must respond to valid requests from authorities

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA & similar laws)

Our Site and content are family-friendly but not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13.

If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent/guardian and believe we have such data, contact us right away at the email below.

5. Sharing of Information

We share information only in these limited cases:

  • With service providers who help us run the Site (e.g., MailerLite for emails, Automattic/Jetpack for hosting & analytics) — all under strict data protection agreements
  • If required by law, court order, or to protect rights/safety

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

6. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States. Email data via MailerLite is processed in the EU/US with appropriate safeguards (MailerLite uses Standard Contractual Clauses and is GDPR-compliant).

Analytics data (Jetpack) is anonymized and handled in accordance with Automattic’s policies.

7. How Long We Keep Data

  • Email subscription records → while you remain subscribed + a short period after unsubscription (to handle any re-subscribe requests or prove prior consent)
  • Analytics logs → typically 26 months or less (Jetpack default; anonymized)
  • We delete data sooner if you request it

8. Your Rights

You may have rights under applicable laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), including:

  • Access to your data
  • Correction
  • Deletion
  • Restriction/objection to processing
  • Withdraw consent (for emails: use the unsubscribe link in any message)
  • Portability (where applicable)

To exercise any rights, email us at hello@familyadventurepress.com

We aim to respond within 30 days (or as required by law). You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the data we hold (e.g., secure forms, reputable providers). No system is 100% secure, but we take it seriously.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. For significant changes (e.g., new data types), we’ll try to notify via email or site notice.
